Tablet Storage Product Design
How we helped LapSafe® launch their tablet storage cabinet that can sync and charge 32 computer tablets

summary

Working in partnership with LapSafe®’s in-house team we designed and engineered a tablet storage solution for classrooms

This technical tablet storage product design required significant engineering experience (and an eye for aesthetics)

The mechanical design work required integrated electronics

We carried the concepts through to a fully working and engineered design ready for production

the brief

LapSafe® specialises in storage and charging solutions for schools. Their team had been hard at work in designing a cabinet that could hold up to 32 tablets and efficiently charge them while storing them securely. With important education shows on the horizon they came to us for support in working up their concepts and taking through to production for this tablet storage product design.

solution

This technical product called on a lot of engineering experience but also needed an eye for aesthetics so that the cabinets looked as good as they worked. Alongside the mechanical design there was a lot of integrated electronics that called for ultra-safe power management. From initial concepts we used 3D modelling to develop and engineered a fully-working prototype.

the result

The ‘Indigo’ range was launched at the IT in education show BETT and LapSafe® has gone on to become a trusted brand leader in the education space.
