Design evaluation and scoping
This is where we look at the feasibility of a concept, a design or project. We bring in as much or as little expertise as is required for each individual job so you don’t over pay and we don’t over or under analyse an issue. During this phase not only might we look at viability we would also ‘illuminate the path’ to the final product so that you can more clearly understand what is involved for your particular product. Not everyone needs this stage but for some it is extremely valuable. The results of this stage can help you to more firmly get a grasp of what is possible for you and your product or idea.
Conceptual design
This is a very important stage of the design process where often a huge amount of factors have to be taken into account. Getting this right is key to keeping the design process focused , on track and affordable.
Simulation
Where necessary we may undertake computer simulation as a method of evaluating the suitability of a design of in order to assist with specifics of a design this may include Stress analysis, Heat analysis and Fluid dynamic analysis.
Design for prototype
Once weve got the basic concept or direction and the client is happy we take it further using specific design techniques to get to the end goal of a physical prototype. This is then built and tested for fit, form and function. What is learned here is taken into account for the next stage
Detailed design for manufacture
Using all the information gained up to this point and shifting now to a manufacture focus, We now move the product much closer to its final destination.
Production documentation
Engineering drawings are required at certain stages of the process. For prototype the drawings are usually kept fairly simple but still putting in enough information to get a successful prototype made. At the design manufacture stage a full set of engineering drawings are produced. We also produce where required specification documents and quality control documents.
